Cabinets and doors!

Sorry for the slow update, but the pictures were taken with our "good camera" instead of the cell phone, so I had to actually get the pictures off the camera to upload instead of having it happen instantly! How spoiled I am by technology.

Anyway, we visited the house last weekend and even though I think it was supposed to be locked, it wasn't! The sheetrock is almost done, they just have a little work to do in the basement. Otherwise, they've painted the walls (apparently with a spray gun that got everywhere), installed interior doors, and we now have cabinets! Also, the tile guy was working on a Saturday to tile the tubs and showers upstairs. So without further delay, here are the pictures.

Backyard deck and patio, there will be stairs

We have little hope that we will be able to get in this weekend because they've gotten far enough along to start locking it, but if we can get in we will post pictures. Happy Thanksgiving!

Update and closing date information

Sorry for the delay in updating, we went by the house last weekend, but they were still working on the insulation and we didn't want to go inside and distract anyone.

They were working again this weekend, but we visited anyway because I was having withdrawals!

So without further ado, here are the newest pictures:

The deck, there are supposed to be stairs, but it's a start!

We aren't sure how they plan to fill in these holes since they've already drywalled

We didn't go upstairs because they were still working on the drywall and sounded like they were on a roll. We are excited they've started working weekends. We also got a confirmation on the final walk through date and closing. It looks like we will walk through on December 13th and close on December 17th.

There are a few things we're still waiting on from the PM that didn't look quite right when we were visiting, but overall we are happy to see all the progress!

Until next time!

Quick Update (Guardian and pre-drywall walkthroughs)

Sorry for the delay, but I was hoping to have pictures before posting again. Unfortunately (or fortunately) people have been working on the house every time we've been by lately, so no good pictures this time.

Anyway, last week on Tuesday we met Brian from Guardian to do the walk through. We met him after work around 5 PM, so it got dark quickly! Basically we just walked through all the rooms with him and pointed out where we wanted the cable and data ports to be placed. There was some confusion about our sound and speaker set up in the basement, but we finally got it sorted out. We have been back by since then and all the wiring for Guardian and the other electrical work has been properly installed! Side note: the windows and exterior doors were also installed when we went!

Monday of this week we did the pre-drywall walk through with our PM. Basically, we just walked through the house, asked questions, and let our PM point out things. So far, all the duct work, electrical and plumbing stuff has been run and the bathtubs are installed. We only noticed one error, they forgot to delete one of the master closet doors, but our PM said that would be a quick and easy fix.

So, on Monday our PM said the plan was to get 3 inspections on Tuesday, do insulation on Wednesday, inspect insulation on Thursday, and start drywall Friday or Saturday. The most recent update today said that they are still waiting on 2 of the 3 inspections they had planned on Tuesday with hopes of accomplishing them today. At this point he thinks the drywall will begin on Monday.

We asked our PM if we're still on track for a December 5th final walk through. He said "we're cutting it close" and he won't be able to really put a firm date on anything until the drywall is done. We are hoping to close by December 12th since as of December 19th we will be homeless when our current house closes!

We will try for pictures this weekend so you can see the windows and hopefully some insulation!

Until next week:

So much progress!

We visited the site today and holy jeez have they made some progress! Everyone told us the framing would go fast, but given our previous experience we expected to see maybe the first floor to be framed, but definitely nothing more. We were super excited to be wrong! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Master bedroom and future awesome bathtub!

And finally, this expression of happiness:
